As I strive to come in first
in a race to the edge of the world
within nanoseconds as I make my approach
I begin to see it
the beginning of life
the proclaiming light
warming my tense heart as I get closer
I feel it reaching out for me
I run at a speed faster than my lazy ass has ever travelled before
Finally making to the end
I instantly stop
instantly I realize how much the bottom of my feet burn
instantly I realize how much my left cheek burns
.....that god damn sun instantly slapped the shit out of me.
